As I was driving home from dinner tonight the song “God of this City” by Chris Tomlin came on the radio and really made think. I’ve heard it a thousands times before but for some reason, in this season, it is different. The line in particular, really struck a chord.
🎵For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done in this city 🎵⠀

For the last 7 of 10 years we’ve lived in Charlotte, my heart has ached to try somewhere new. I’m an adventurer at heart with the worst case of wanderlust, always pulling me in different directions. My husband will tell you that I like change just for the sake of change.⠀
⠀
About 6 years ago, a friend told me she had read Malcom Gladwell’s book, The Tipping Point, and determined I’m a “connector”. I didn’t know what that meant at the time but I looked it up and wasn’t so sure she was right. I wanted to be a maven. Looking back on it now though, she couldn’t have been more accurate in her assessment. ⠀
I have always loved learning the stories of someone’s life and I love people so deeply. I have unintentionally and literally been collecting the sweetest acquaintances the entire time we’ve been in Charlotte. What is so exciting about this is that so many of them are doing incredible things with the gifts He has given them. Some have also faced devastating trials and I hope to share those too. When you’re in a hard place, you need to know you’re not alone. The others have been there before you can help encourage you with their journeys.
